This is our new Lichtenstein SN2 display (FuG 220), with its antenna array

This photo is taken at our new exhibition place

Shown from left to right: Würzburg (FuSE62 D) power supplies and the artificial target Rehbock (FuZG64), on the ground stands the mains transformer to FuSE62 (NT62); right of it: FuG101a  consisting of E101 and S101, with Umformer and in the centre the (landing) height-range-indicator (0 - 150 m and 0-750 m); Li.SN2 antennae and testing table (PT220); on the right the three units mounted on their transport cases is the WT40 (S&H) system, which is a telex (Fernschreib) interface for multi-channel telex over a single telephone channel. To improve its redundancy it operated in FSK mode

Consider also: the replica (copy) of the antenna array-mode switch, which we have made by means of a borrowed original sample!

The Al antennae mountings for Lichtenstein SN2 were reproduced by courtesy of Günter Hütter (AT)

Since Spring 2008 I have, after an e-mail conversation with Mr Bogdan, decided that it does make sense to add some details on the principles and mechanical construction of the Lichtenstein SN2 antenna. I hope that the two drawings with their explanations can be understood by most of the readers (please notice that these principle drawings are not to scale).

Some aspects of Lichtenstein radars is dealt with in my 2006 IEHG paper: German airborne radar
